Each player is made with 7 different base colours - green, red, blue, white, silver, gold and black, please note that before MicroStars Series 12 there were no black bases.

The base colour represents the "playing form" of each player in each Game. The Form of each player improves depending on the rarity of the base colour. So, green bases have the basic ratings and the ultra rare Gold Bases have the highest ratings. Gold & black bases are in effect Man-of-the-Match performances by that player and they are very difficult to stop. The rarer the base colour the more likely you are to win the games you can play with MicroStars. So look out for those rare base colour players.

Each MicroStar is not only a great collectible figure of the top players but also comes with a set of Skill Ratings which allow you play games with them and compete with your mates. The skill ratings are printed under the base.

Goalkeepers have only 2 ratings - Save Shot Right and Save Shot Left. But there are 4 different rating combinations for each base colour. So for example, a green base has 4 different save right and save left combinations. This makes it more difficult for strikers to decide which side to shoot.

Each outfield player MicroStar has 5 Skill Ratings printed under the base. These are dribble, tackle, pass, cross and shoot.
